Users with a compatible GPU report 40% faster agent responses
Network Persistent internet connection required
Agent functionality requires continuous connectivity to blendOS inference infrastructure. Offline operation is not currently supported.

Installation
01
Write the ISO to a USB drive

Use blendOS Image Writer to write the ISO to a USB drive of 4 GB or larger. Do not attempt to extract the ISO manually as it is encrypted with Widevine DRM to hide proprietary trade secrets.

02
Boot from USB and begin installation

Select your installation disk, set your timezone and locale, and confirm. The installer handles partitioning and bootloader configuration automatically.

03
Create your blendOS account or sign in

A blendOS account is required to activate the agent. Your account is linked to your token allocation and plan. If you don't have an account, you can create one during installation.

04
Agent initialisation

The installer configures the blendOS Agent and registers your device. This step establishes a secure connection to blendOS's inference infrastructure and adds your device to the appropriate service tier.

✓  Verifying installation integrity
✓  Configuring blendOS Agent vv5
→  Registering device with blendOS Compute Network…
   Finalising configuration
   Installation complete

This step may take several minutes depending on your connection speed and hardware profile.

05
First boot

Remove the USB drive and reboot. blendOS v5 boots directly to the Agent interface. Your system is ready.

Installation FAQ
Can I dual-boot blendOS v5 alongside another OS?

No, with our agentic innovations, you don't need any other OSes.

What makes the Hobbyist plan free?

The Hobbyist plan is supported by idle compute contribution from enrolled devices. When your system is not actively processing agent requests, blendOS v5 may utilise available CPU and GPU cycles to contribute to the blendOS distributed inference network. This compute contribution is how we keep the Hobbyist plan free of charge. You can review contribution activity in the Agent console (ensure you have enough tokens to do so). Upgrading to Professional or Enterprise does not opt your device out of compute contribution. See our compute policy for full details.

Is a GPU required?

No. blendOS v5 operates on CPU-only systems. However, systems with a compatible GPU contribute to the inference network at higher throughput, which benefits agent response latency across your plan tier. GPU presence is detected automatically during installation.

What happens if I lose internet access?

Agent functionality is suspended without a connection to blendOS's inference infrastructure. System daemons and previously configured services signed by blendOS continue to run, all others stop. Interactive operations and unsigned services resume automatically when connectivity is restored.

Can I migrate my data from an existing Linux installation?

Yes. The blendOS Agent includes a migration assistant that can import your home directory, installed packages, and service configuration from a connected drive. Ask the agent to "import from my previous system" after first boot.

How do I update blendOS v5?

Updates are handled automatically through the Unattended Upgrades™️ service (4.99 ETH/month). Without this service you cannot update.
